Course Overview:

Level #2

This 8-week course is designed to advance your tracking foundation skills, inspired by AKC standards. All teams must complete Level #1 prior to, or have equivalent tracking knowledge, before taking this course. Our goals is to prepare our K9 Teams for an AKC TD title. We focus on enhance tighter footfall tracking, article indications, deepening nose work, extended tracks up to 400 yards, aged 1-3 hours, equivalent to a AKC TD qualifying test.

Course Highlights:

• Schutzhund & AKC Track Laying Techniques: Become proficient in laying your own AKC-patterned tracks, covering distances up to 400 yards, aging 1-3 hours.

• Understanding Scent: Gain a deeper understanding of how environments, surfaces, temperatures, and landscapes all affect a scent picture.

• Hands-On Training: Weekly hands-on training sessions at different locations, variable surfaces and landscapes..

• Homework Assignments: Weekly homework to reinforce learning.

• Final Test: A final test in week 8 simulating the AKC TD title, preparing you with the skills and confidence for future tracking adventures.
